Student Opportunities

WNET New York Public Media is looking for a small group of students, in 9th grade through early college, from across New York City to serve on the advisory board of Youth Collective, a Gen Z media and leadership initiative. 

This year's Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program application is now available. It is a 7-week program for girls interested in learning code. No previous experience in computer science or coding is needed, so feel free to try something new and apply!

Join other teen artist around NYC and collaborte together to create artwork inspired by Broadway art.

The Teen Reviewers and Critics (TRaC) Program is a free after school opportunity for teens to explore the arts in New York City.

Students between the ages of 14 through 18 are invited to partake in a free program that allows students to build relationships with women in the STEM field. It will be held at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space museum from 11am- 3:30pm. 

PowerPlayNYC's RisingSTARS Academy(RSA) is a free year- long leadership development program for Middle School Girls. Application deadline is Monday, April 30th, 2018. 

This program provides mentoring & elite college admissions counseling. A limited opportunity for High school students. The deadline is May 1, 2018. 

This is a festival is targeting high school students who have a passion for filmmaking and sports. This will be rewarded with a prize of $3,500 and the winners will have their film aired on SNY. Must be 14 to 19. 

NFTE is a summer program for high schools interested in tech. Get up to $700 and a chance to win way more! Starting from June 29 to August 22.   

This is a free program for anyone interested in the theater arts. The classes provided are acting, movement, and improv. Next meeting is Wednesdays April 4th. Click here for additional info. Sign up ASAP! 

 This is an amazing opportunity for Juniors or seniors. This is a 6 week program from July 9-August 17th and is paid. The deadline for applying to the program is Friday, May 4, 2018.

Scholarship for seniors that identify as a Latina. Must provide proof of acceptance to a 2 year or 4 year university. A GPA of at least 3.0.If you do not meet the requirements please include an appeal letter to be considered. The deadline is May 2, 2018.

This is a great opportunity for a rising sophomore, junior or senior interested in design and fabrication.Wentworth will be offering a 4-week summer program from July 9 to August 3, 2018. You can earn future college credit and scholarship while doing something that you enjoy.

Here's a program by Microsoft for high school girls. It is free and an amazing opportunity build your brand. The event is on May 18 and May 19, 2018. Click here for more info. 

This is a two week long playwriting intensive for interested high school students. This program is free of charge and by application. This program will happen between June 25 to 29, and July 2-6. Applications are due by June 20, 2018. Students must be able to travel to and from the city independently.

A professional learning community of teachers across the City. High school teachers from any science discipline who participate in this five session opportunity

On Election Day, a series of programming taking place in different locations across the City for educators including Jim Crow Conference, and female activists.

Features workshops on personal finance topics and instructional strategies as well as a Resources Fair. With a Keynote speaker is Sarah Newcomb of Morningstar
